Team Leader

Wendy Bickmore has a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Edinburgh. She is a tenured MRC scientist at the MRC Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh. This, along with the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, is part of the newly established Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine of the University of Edinburgh.

Professor Bickmore is a member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation and currently chair of their Science and Society Committee. She is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and is involved in their public outreach programme to teach school students about the human genome. She is on the Editorial Board of a number of Academic journals including: PLoS Genetics, EMBO, Molecular Biology of the Cell and Chromosome Research.
