History

Beatrice studied for her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Trinity College (US) and then obtained her MS and PhD from the Biology Department at Yale University. She moved to the UK in 1995 to work as postdoctoral researcher at ICR with Professor Barry Gusterson performing genetic analysis of models of early mammary gland development. She has been working at the Breakthrough Centre since it first opened. She has worked in Professor Alan Ashworth’s Gene Function Group since 2000 researching the roles of key regulators of mammary primordial development to gain insights into developmental processes relevant to the formation of breast cancers. She has been a Staff Scientist at Breakthrough since 2004.
