Avon Cosmetics launched its Avon Breast Cancer Crusade in 1992, and to date has raised over £13 million for UK breast cancer charities, of which Breakthrough Breast Cancer has received £10 million. In addition to its awareness and fundraising work, The Crusade has been funding an ongoing Clinical Research Fellowship programme at the Breakthrough Research Centre.

To date, four clinical fellows have been appointed to this successful programme.

    Research focus: Angiogenesis in hormone-dependent breast cancer

    Molecular Pathology Laboratory, Breakthrough Research Centre
    Research focus: Identifying additional therapeutic targets in HER2 amplified breast cancers
