Clinical Trials

Breakthrough Breast Cancer practices a ‘bench to bedside’ approach, aiming to translate research findings as quickly as possible into the clinical setting. Breakthrough’s work has led to ten clinical trials, directly built on research that took place in their laboratories.

BRCA trial
Phase II trial investigating carboplatin as the first-ever chemotherapy treatment designed specifically for women with BRCA associated breast cancer. This trial is now part of the Triple Negative Trial (below).

Triple Negative Trial
The Triple Negative Trial aims to develop a more tailored and effective chemotherapy treatment for women with hormone and HER2 receptor negative breast cancer, or known BRCA1 or BRCA 2 mutation associated breast cancer which has spread elsewhere in the body.

PARP Inhibitor Trials
Trials investigating PARP inhibitors as the first targeted treatment for women with BRCA-associated breast and ovarian cancer.

ACU.FATIGUE
The world’s largest and most advanced clinical trial investigating whether acupuncture may help women cope with breast cancer-related fatigue.
