Projects

We focus on the classic pathological features and molecular genetic aspects of breast cancer using high throughput genome-wide molecular tools and in situ studies.

  • Identification of the molecular drivers of special types of breast cancer
Determining the genotypic-phenotypic correlations in breast cancer and the main molecular drivers of each special type of breast cancer.
  • Classic and pleomorphic lobular carcinoma
Defining the molecular genetic characteristics of classic and pleomorphic lobular carcinomas and identifying novel therapeutic targets for these tumours.
  • Basal-like carcinomas
Analysing the biological and clinical impacts of BRCA1 inactivation in basal-like carcinomas.
  • HER2 positive breast cancer
Identifying novel predictive markers and therapeutic targets for HER2-positive breast cancers.
  • Unravelling intra-tumour genetic heterogeneity of breast cancer
Characterising the genetic intra-tumour heterogeneity of breast cancers and its significance for resistance to tailored therapies.
