Establishing how other key pathways controlling cell proliferation are deregulated using microarray.

Our aim is to compare the mRNA profiles of the LTED and TamR with their parental cell lines.

Our current research suggests that resistance to endocrine therapies may be largely as a result of alterations in phosphorylation events. However, we wish to establish if other key pathways controlling cell proliferation are deregulated. Our aim is to compare the mRNA profiles of the LTED and TamR with their parental cell lines using the Breakthrough 15k cDNA chip through the Breakthrough Microarray Facility. We hope this will reveal new high priority pathways to assess within these resistant cell lines, providing new therapeutic targets and potential biomarkers for diagnosis using ‘Real-Time’ PCR.
