Breast Development Projects

"Our research focuses on the early embryonic development of the mammary primordium."

  • Neuregulin3 signalling in mammary gland morphogenesis
Neuregulin3 (Nrg3) has been implicated in mammary gland specification.
  • Erbb4 signalling in mammary gland development
Investigations of mammary development defects in Erbb4-/-ht+ mice (genetically-rescued Erbb4-/- mice).
  • Expression of the Neuregulin family of ligands and their receptors, the Erbb tyrosine kinases in the developing mammary gland
Examining the expression of Neuregulins and Erbb receptors at the early stages of embryonic mammary gland formation.
  • Migration of primitive mammary cells
Investigating the localised movements of the primitive mammary epithelial cells within the nascent mammary primordium.
